The following are proven tactics to stop worry in its tracks.
1. Focus on Today to Prepare for Tomorrow
This day will never dawn again, life is slipping through our fingertips at an incredible rate. Don’t have anxiety for the future. Focus on the task at hand, knowing that if you give it your all today then you will be prepared for tomorrow.
2. Don’t sweat the small stuff
Will this thing that I’m worrying about really matter in the long run?
Don’t regret wasting your time and energy worrying about the small stuff. You’ll realize that these worries are absurd.
“Life is too short to be little”
3. Law of Averages
What is the probability that this event I’m worrying about will actually happen?
Most often our worries are preposterous because there’s such as small chance that they’ll happen. So use the law of averages to banish your worries.
The future is nearly impossible to predict so, by law of averages, what we are worrying about will not happen.
4. Don’t try to change the past
“Don’t cry over spilt milk.”
Incessantly thinking about the past has no use, it’s irreparable.
All we can do is write it off, forget it, and move on.
5. Eight Words that can change your life
“Our life is what our thoughts make it.” – Marcus Aurelius
It’s possible to manufacture positive emotions by simply thinking good thoughts. The best way to crowd worry out of your mind is to sit back, take a deep breath and smile.
“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation, but your thoughts about it.” – Eckhart Tolle
6. Accept the Inevitable
What happens, happens. All you can do is give it your best effort.
Such as, when taking a test. Prepare as well as you can, then give it your all and don’t give an ounce of worry onward.
7. Count your Blessings
“I had the blues because I had no shoes, until upon the street, I met a man who had no feet.” -Denis Waitley
Focus on what you have, rather than what you don’t.
Gratitude is the best way to put your worries into perspective. If you’re reading this than you’re part of a privileged group of individuals. So be grateful!
8. Make Lemonade
“Two men looked out from prison bars, one saw the mud and the other saw the stars” – Dale Carnegie
If life throws you a curveball. Accept it, because it can’t be otherwise. It’s not the situation but the outlook upon it that determines mood.
When fate hands us a lemon, lets make lemonade. Any situation can be great if we make it.
9. Be Yourself
Authenticity is the new success. No one wants a copycat.
Don’t act like something you’re not. Be yourself and throw worry out the window. The greatest form of happiness comes from not pretending to be something that you’re not.
Want to get Results?
The single most important step to stop worrying is to take action on these principles. If you want to get results then ask yourself these three questions.
What did I learn?
How will my behavior change from what I learned?
What did I learn about myself?
If you do that then I’m positive you will be headed towards a worry free life in no time.
